LTTE will never raise head again: NPC chairman

The LTTE will never raise its head in this country again and the Tamils will not be drawn towards an armed conflict again, said Northern Provincial Council chairman C.V.K. Sivagnanam.

He was commenting on the recent finding of a LTTE suicide kit and an arms cache in the North.

Sivagnanam said LTTE leader Prabhakaran went to war at his own will and since he is dead, no one else will be able to revive another armed conflict.

Sivagnanam said although certain political forces in the South spoke about the possibility of another armed conflict for their own political gain, it was those forces rather than Tamils who yearned for such a conflict again.

He believed the arms cache found in the North was more than 10 years old.
