Child protection programmes in Matara

Child protection programmes are under way in the Matara district. According to Condred Ranawake, Director attached to the Institute of Community Strengths, Matara, these programmes are implemented in the Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Weligama, Matara, Devinuwara and Dickwella in the district.

Participants in the programmes are to be made aware of the prevention of child abuse, venereal diseases and how to protect children against anti-social acts and offences.
