Lorry crashes into Palmyra tree killing 300 chicken

A canter vehicle transporting 300 chicken was damaged and the chicken killed when the vehicle crashed into a Palmyra tree around 5.45 a.m. yesterday.

The vehicle driver and the owner travelling in it escaped with minor injuries.

The vehicle which began its journey from Bibile was travelling to Akkaraipattu. While getting close to Sinnamugathuwaram, Akkaraipattu a herd of buffaloes had jumped on to the road. The driver had braked and the vehicle had crashed into a Palmyra tree.

Akkaraipattu Police are investigating.
