He lost the bet and drove an ambulance

A law student was arrested by police for allegedly driving an ambulance without permission, Cinnamon Gardens Police said. He had bet on the victory of his school

at the Battle of the Maroons held on Sunday and agreed to drive off in an ambulance if he lost the bet.

The ambulance was the property of the Sri Lankan Eye Donation Society.

The student is a old boy of Ananda College, Colombo, sources said.

The student who drove the ambulance without permission is to be produced before Colombo Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.
