International Democratic Union membership for BJP

The Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) of India yesterday received the membership of the International Democratic Union (IDU).

The IDU decided to grant the membership to the BJP at its executive meeting held in Colombo.

The United National Party made a proposal to the IDU executive committee to offer IDU membership to the BJP.

The executive committee meeting was held under the patronage of IDU president, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key and Asia Pacific Democratic Union chairman, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
