Rashmi Thathsarani Madhubhashini Karunatunga, of Grade 7 student of Wadduwa Central College in the Kalutara Educational Zone is a talented athlete.
Rashmi, who is very much interested in athletics and has excelled in running and jumping events. She won three first places in the 100m, 200m and Long Jump Events and emerged champion athlete of Tissa House at the recently held annual inter-house sports meet at Wadduwa Central College. She also took part in Panadura Inter School Divisional Level Sports Competitions and won several events.
Rashmi who trains and practises under the supervision of schools sports teacher Kapila Kumara, hopes to go a long way in the athletic field with the co-operation and assistance of her sports-loving parents. "I'm much interested in running other than jumping and I think I'll be able to be a very fast runner and bring fame and honour to our school in the future" Rashmi told 'Daily News' recently.
