Over 2000 delegates at ISAAME Forum in Lanka

Over 2,000 delegates will participate in the 44th Lions Clubs International, (ISAAME Forum) from November 30 to December 3, 2016, at the BMICH.

The organiser of the event, CDC Events Managing Director Imran Hassan, said this event will attract delegates from across India, South Asia, Africa and Middle East countries and will be major boost for the tourism and conference market (MICE).

“We will also provide the participants an opportunity of visiting the multitude of tourist attractions available in Sri Lanka and enjoying a memorable and unforgettable experience.”

He also said that the MICE infrastructure has to improve in Sri Lanka. “There is no venue in Sri Lanka which can host a conference event with more than 2,500 delegates.”

“CDC, as a professional event management company has contacts to bring in bigger MICE events to Sri Lanka but have no venue to host them.”

“The Nelum Pokuna Hall and even the Korean built conference facility in Hambantota also cannot accommodate more than 2,500 delegates and this is a very sad situation for a country that is

looking to make tourism the top foreign exchange earner for Sri Lanka.”

This ISAAME forum will establish that Lions have moved from working towards the betterment in their own country, to working for the entire region. PCC Steering Committee Chairperson Lion Mahesh Pasqual said it’s an honour to invite ISAAME Lions to Sri Lanka to experience the culture and warm hospitality of Sri Lanka. “We anticipate to host a larger number of delegates than at previous forums to be held in Sri Lanka.”

The last ISAAME event was held in Ahmedabad.
