People’s Bank recently released the memoirs of the late W. Karunajeewa, former Chairman of People’s Bank and People Leasing and Finance PLC titled Janajeewa Karunajeewa, which was written by Bandara Eheliyagoda.
The book outlined his various achievements in both his professional life and his impactful work as a humanitarian. Janajeewa Karunajeewa was published by People’s Bank and launched at a ceremony presided over by President Maithripala Sirisena, President at the B.M.I.C.H.
The occasion was graced by the Chief Incumbent of the Ruwanveli Maha Seya, Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Thera, Ven Dr.Kirinde Assaji Thera, Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Rajitha Senarathna, Minister of Justice, Wijeyadasa Rajapakse, Deputy Minister of Megalopolis and Western Development, Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Hemasiri Fernando, Chairman, People’s Bank and People’s Leasing and Finance PLC, N. Vasantha Kumar,Chief Executive Officer/General Manager, People’s Bank, D. P Kumarage, Chief Executive Officer/General Manager, People’s Leasing and Finance PLC and the Corporate and Executive management of People’s Bank along with the family of the late W.Karunajeewa. A poignant commemorative address was given by Prof. Sumanasiri Liyanage at the event.
