A 19-year-old trainee at the Inamaluwa Vocational Training Centre in Matale, was electrocuted at the centre on Friday. He died on admission to Dambulla Base Hospital.
The trainee was identified as Gamagedara Kanishka Gamage, a resident of Habarana.
The victim had tried to operate an electric meter irregularly which resulted in electrocution.
The incident occurred on the final day of the course.
