For the year 2016, I wish all Sri Lankans across the country a peaceful and prosperous Happy New Year. It is indeed a content and significant time where a year is being fulfilled since the birth of a populist, good governance rule for justice and equity, Leader of the House and Higher Education and Highways Minister Lakshman Kiriella states in a New Year message.
The message: "The United National Party led new government has created national unity and a good governance programme which we must all get together to make it a reality together this year.
For this New Year, every sector in this country should have a transformative change for the dawn of this new era. Therefore, I wish this year to be fruitful year where your hopes are fulfilled.
With the dawn of this new era, all nationalities, all religions should get together and work towards one objective for this New Year."
