New Vice Chancellor

Prof. Athula Senarathna was appointed the Peradeniya University Vice Chancellor for three years, by President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday.

Prof. Senarathna assumed duties in his new appointment yesterday at the University.

He was the former Head of the Peradeniya University Geology Department and served as a university lecturer for 33 years.

He also functioned as the Sri Lanka Water Board chairman. Prof. Senarathna has a patent licence on three new productions, including desalination.
