Post conflict progress:
Lanka way ahead
The government yesterday emphasized the
importance of acknowledging the substantial results already achieved
on the ground within a far shorter time span than had been necessary
in post conflict situations in other parts of the world. This was

Ranil’s statement controversial - A H M Azwer, MP
Addressing a recent UNP propaganda meeting in
the Eastern Province, as reported in certain sections in the press,
Leader of the Opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe, was reported to have
said that the SLMC had rejected the Holy Quran and embraced the
Mahinda Chinthanaya, says Member of Parliament and Parliament

Expulsion of UNP PS members :
Notice issued on Ranil
The Colombo District Court yesterday issued
notice on the leader and General Secretary of the UNP to show cause
before August 21 as to why an interim injunction should not be
issued against them for the expulsion of six members belonging to
six Pradesheeya Sabhas in the Anuradhapura district.
