Kelsey Homes Ltd one of the most reputed housing company in Sri lanka, recently launched "Kelsey Build Plus" to offer customers to build their dream homes on their own land. It is a total solution that is speedy, hassle-free and ideal for house builders with busy lifestyles.

Today, most people experience problems when building houses. These include the difficulty of obtaining reliable contractors and professional advice with regard to suitable designs and cost estimates.

'Kelsey Build Plus' enables them to overcome these problems through a total solution that covers professional advisory services, supervisory assistance and construction work.

Through 'Build Plus', an average-sized house (with an area less than 2000 sq.ft.) could be completed within a period of just 6 months.

Larger houses take additional few months to complete. Kelsey offers a structural warranty of 10 years and a defect liability period of 12 months.

The package of services offered by 'Kelsey Build Plus' also includes provision of 3D images, drawings for local authority approvals, cost estimates and facilitation of banking facilities. Quantity Surveyor Mrs. Nishani Dissanayake, commenting on costing, said, "The rates charged by the company per square foot are very competitive, offering real value for money." She added that the cost is quoted on a fixed basis, so that, until construction is complete, there are no price escalations due to rising costs of raw materials and labour. She further said the products they use are of superior quality.

By contrast, if home builders decide to do things on their own, they are likely to face price escalation risk. Certain contractors raise prices after construction has commenced and also compromise on the quality of raw materials and finishes.
