Vidyartha record fifth successive win

Vidyartha College, Kandy scored their fifth successive win when they beat St. Anne’s College Kurunegala by seven wickets in their schools under-17 Division one cricket tournament match played at the open Prison Grounds, Pallekele Yesterday.

Playing a key role in Vidyartha College’s win was opener Roshan Nanayakkara who made 77 not out, 6 fours and 2 sixes and put on 112 in an unbroken stand for the fourth wicket with Dasun Nawaratne who made 27 not out and also took 3 for 12 in Annites innings.

St. Anne’s College 141 (C. Perera 33, N. Peiris 15, M. Perera 22, M. Ududeniya 22, Isuru Weerasinghe 2 for 37, Dasun Nawaratne 3 for 12 Chanaka Ratnayake 3 for 26).

Vidyartha College 142 (Roshan Nanayakkara 77 not out, Dasun Nawaratne 27 not out, M. Perera 2 for 14).
