EDCS grants Rs. 736 m in loans in May

The Education Employee Co-operative Thrift and Credit Society Limited (EDCS) has granted the highest ever amount in loan facilities to its members in May this year.

Co-operatives and Internal Trade Minister Johnston Fernando said Rs. 736 million worth loan facilities had been granted to EDCS members during May.

“The EDCS on previous occasions had granted between Rs.200 and Rs.300 million per month in loan facilities,” the minister said. The EDCS has been converted into the foremost monetary organization providing maximum profits and benefits to its members. The EDCS is expanding its countrywide operations with three new branches opened in in Matara, Hambantota and Kalutara.
