Sugathadasa Stadium receives IAAF Class One Certificate

The newly refurbished Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo, which was built in keeping with international standards, has received the Class One Athletic Facility Certificate from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) on July 4, the Sports Ministry said.

Mathew Cohen of Trackmasters International Ltd, who was in Sri Lanka during May, inspected the stadium. According to his report 28125000,24-27 May 2012, ISA Sport, NED, the Sugathadasa Stadium has met with all the technical requirements of IAAF Rule 140 for the relevant competitions.
