Suspects granted bail in unlawful entry case

Panadura magistrate R.S.A. Dissanayaka ordered personal bail in Rs.
5,000 on chairman, a PS member and two technical officers and a driver
of the Panadura Pradeshiya Sabha and two police constables of the
Panadura North Police, when they appeared before court on summons
issued.
This was in sequel to a plaint filed by Don Chandana Gunasekera of
No. 327, Diggala Road, Kehelwatta, Panadura. The accused were charged
with being members of an unlawful assembly who had forcibly entered a
land at Diggala Road and caused damages running up to Rs. 200,000 as an
offence punishable under sections 138,139 427,409, 346 342, and 343.
The magistrate considered the submissions of the complainant lawyer
Kasun Jayaratne and fixed the trial for July, 2012. Attorney-at-Law
Vajira Kavisinghe appeared for the accused. |
