violation of human rights has anything genuine about it, Hillary
Rodham Clinton, the US Secretary of State must be trying hard to
hide her face after former US President and Nobel Laureate Jimmy
Carter charged the Obama administration of the widespread abuse of
human rights.

Falling out among themselves
The dissolution of the Eastern, Sabaragamuwa and
North Central Provincial Councils has prompted a lot of speculation
among political circles, mainly concerned with its timing. The
Department of Elections has called for nominations in mid-July, and
has tentatively advanced three possible dates for the election:
September 1, 8 and 15.
