Katuwana murder case:
Three identify chief suspect
Three witnesses yesterday identified the chief
suspect in the double murder case at Katuwana at an identification
parade held before Walasmulla acting magistrate W L Herasinghe. The
chief suspect, Geeganage Amarasiri alias Julampitiye Amare was
brought to the Walasmulla magistrate’s court from the Tangalle
Prison in a prison bus.

Five warrants on Julampitiye Amare at time of surrendering
Gigana Gamage Amarasiri alias Julampitiye Amare
had five warrants against him at the time he surrendered to court,
the Police Headquarters said in statement on Tuesday. He is wanted
by Police in connection with several crimes.
