‘Head over Wheels’ motor rally to start from Colombo on June 23

The Colombo Malay Cricket Club (CMCC) will conduct their third annual ‘Head over Wheels’ Motor Rally on June 23 commencing at 1.00pm from Padang Complex, Colombo 2. The rally has been organized as a part of CMCC’s 140th and Sri Lanka Malay Association’s (SLMA) 90th anniversary celebrations. This was revealed during a press briefing at the CMCC recently.

There will be 35 amateur drivers taking part in the fun filled motor experience and the route will span around nearly 100kms on urban and suburban terrain. Driver and navigator will be the co-entrants while two other assistants are also allowed in a vehicle.

The winner will be selected on best timing with the least debit points where the contestants have to triumph over exciting obstacles and mind joggling clues. CMCC President Yunus Raheem said that being the oldest cricket club in the country CMCC has a rich heritage and also a founder member of the country’s governing body of cricket, SLC. He appreciated the sponsors who stepped forward to support the rally.

Briefing on their anniversary celebrations, Raheem said that they are making plans to start a new cricket academy and the Malay rally with a gala fashion show will be held in October.
