Suspect arrested in burglary case

Mount Lavinia Police yesterday arrested the suspect involved in the burglary at the house of SriLankan Airlines Chairman Nishantha Wickremasinghe.

Wickremasinghe’s residence was burgled on June 7 and cash and jewellery worth over Rs. 8 million were stolen. The Police also succeeded in recovering the cash and the loot from a fisherman’s house in Dehiwala. Mont Lavinia Police began investigations into the robbery on a complaint made by a family member on June 8, an official of the Mount Lavinia Police told the Daily News.
