The annual prize giving of S Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia will be held on June 28 at 4.15pm at the college hall.

The Scout Service and Relationship Week will be held from today to July 1.

Scouts will call on the public during this week in uniform. The launching ceremony will be held today in the Colombo district with M A Navaz Caffoor as the chief guest.


Home Makers’ Haven 2012

The Sri Lanka Housewives’ Association will present the Annual Fund Raiser Home Makers’ Haven 2012 at King’s Court, Cinnamon Lake Side, Colombo on July 1 from 9 am. Several programmes including songs, dance, comic skits and a fashion show will be held. Over 25 trade stalls will also be set up. Talk on Practice of Meditation

Dr Basil de Silva will deliver a public talk in English on Practice of Meditation at the meeting of the Servants of the Buddha Society on June 23 at 4.30pm at Maithree Hall, Lauries road, Bambalapitiya.


Dummalawarama 10th anniversary

The 10th anniversary show of Ranjith de Alwis’ stage play Dummalawarama will be held on July 1 at 3.30 and 6.30 pm at the Tower Hall.

Artistes Gamini Hettiarachchi, Sanath Wimalasiri, Givantha Arthasad, Manohari Wimalatunga, Roshana Ondanchi, Ranjith Chamikara, Upul Weerasinghe, Anura Srinath, Anura Mapitigama and Tharaka Adikari will perform.

Music is directed by Edward Jayakody.


Handicraft exhibition

A handicraft exhibition by inmates of Sanhida Elders Care Centre, Pitakotte will be held to mark its 10th anniversary tomorrow at 9.30am at its premises at Raja Maha Viharaya Road, Pitakotte.

The Elders Care Centre is maintained by Thimbirigasyaya C2 Lions Club.


Lecture

A lecture on dyslexia awareness, detection and treatment will be conducted by Dyslexia Educational consultant L A Nalpon visiting from Singapore today at 11am at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital New Auditorium, Level 3 of the new building.


Public lectures

Public lectures on ‘The 13th Amendment and Fabricated History’ organised by Royal Asiatic Society Sri Lanka will be held on June 25 at 5pm at the Gamini Dissanayake Auditorium, 96, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Colombo 7. Architect T L Kiringoda, President OPA will speak on ‘Why the OPA opposed the 13thAmendment’, Emeritus Professor C M Maddumabandara on ‘Traditional Homelands and the 13th Amendment’ and Dr P G Punchihewa, former CCS on ‘Changes in Districts and Provincial Boundaries from Colonial Times’.


AGM

The 108th Annual General Meeting of St Benedict’s College Old Boys’ Union will be held on June 24 at 10.30am at the college hall which will be preceded by Holy Mass at 9.30 am concelebrated by Old Ben Priests - Rev Fr Trevor Martin and Rev Fr Tyrel Alles.
