Prisoners found with hi- tech phones

Prison officers seized 38 mobile phones and three hi -tech phones from the possession of inmates of Welikada and Anuradhapura prisons, officials said. The phones were found during search operations in the prisons carried out on the orders of Minister Chandrasiri Gajadeera.

Investigations are continuing to ascertain how the phones came into the jail premises.
