Facelift for Mattegoda housing scheme

The road network in the Mattegoda housing scheme will be carpeted and the drainage system be renovated under the directives of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa.

The Ministry will allocate Rs 164 million for the project which includes the construction of payments on either side of the roads. The Road Development Authority will implement the project.

Minister Weerawansa made this decision having inspected the road network in the housing scheme. He discussed the issues of the housing scheme with the residents.

The minister said that the ministry has taken steps to refurbish all government housing schemes under the Nagamu Purawara programme.
