Cash awards for top athletes
Sri Lanka athletes who win gold, silver and bronze medals
at the forthcoming 15th Asian Junior Championships 2012 in Colombo
will be awarded cash prizes, Sports Ministry sources revealed.
Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has decided to honor with
cash awards of Rs 5,00,000 to gold medal winners and Rs 3,00,000
those who secure silver medals.

Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship:
Mr. Sri Lanka Sanjeewa bags gold
Mr Sri Lanka 2011, W A Sanjeewa Ruwan Kumara of
Sri Lanka Navy won the gold medal in the Kg 65 category at the Asian
Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship which concluded in Tashkent,
Uzbekistan. The championship was held for 20 events in different age
categories from June 1 to 4. Sanjeewa entered the final round on
Sunday.

Over 500 in action at Nationalized Services shuttle tourney
The Nationalized Services Badminton Association
All Island Badminton Open Tournament will be held from June 7 to 10
at Royal College Sports Complex . The annual event, organized by
Nationalized Services Badminton Association, attracts players from
all nationalized services, mercantile sector, Schools, government
sector as well as the national players who represent various
institutions.
