Two bodies in gutted house

Two female bodies, partly burnt, were recovered from a gutted house in Warapitiya, Kahawatta, Police said. Police Media Unit reported that the bodies of the two women, aged over 50, could not be identified due to the burn injuries.

Navy brings injured fisherman ashore

A crew member of the multi-day fishing trawler:

Sri Lanka Navy assisted in bringing an injured fisherman ashore on Monday. He was rushed to the Jaffna General Hospital for further medical attention on completion of the preliminary treatment at Kankasanthurai (KKS) Naval Hospital.

Kidnapped bank manager escapes

A private bank manager escaped from his kidnappers and lodged a complaint with Tanamalwila Police, Police Media Unit sources revealed. The manager working in a private bank in Awissawella, was allegedly kidnapped in Panagoda by a group in a van on Wednesday.

Hidogama Police recovered a stock of ammunition used in rocket launchers on the Nachchaduwa tank bund on Wednesday. The discovery was made near the Pullayar statue on the tank bund.
