The meeting took place at Visumpaya, the official residence of the
Prime Minister who hosted a dinner in honour of the envoy. Before
leaving Visumpaya, the ambassador said she was able to bring diplomatic
relations between Sri Lanka and China to a high level.
China's aim is to see that Sri Lanka attained a high level of
development, she said.
Sri Lanka is a very beautiful country and the honesty and politeness
of its people could never be forgotten, added the ambassador.
While recalling with respect the cooperation extended by the
President and the Prime Minister in carrying out her duties, leaving Sri
Lanka was a very sad incident, she said.
The Prime Minister said the tenure of Yang Xiuping as ambassador had
been exemplary and her dedication has helped elevate China-Sri Lanka
relations to an unprecedented level. |
