The fifth anniversary of Vasantham FM celebrated

The Independent Television Network's (ITN's) first Tamil radio channel Vasantham FM celebrated its fifth anniversary at the ITN premises recently.

This channel was inaugurated on April 23, 2008 under the guidance of former Chairman Anura Siriwardena and Director Hashim Omar.

It is broadcasted for 24 hours with seven announcers and presently more than 23 staff are employed at this channel. Vasantham FM is very popular among the Tamil listeners.

A religious ceremony was held with the participation of all four religious dignitaries Ven Buttala Panya Keeththi Thera, Rev Fr Christie, Jothirathankumar Kurukkal and Moulavi M F M Farood, ITN Chairman Rosmand Senaratne, Director Hashim Omar, Deputy General Manager (Vasantham FM / Lakhanda Radio), Asoka Karunanayake, DGM Programme Vipula Rathnasiri, Vasantham FM Manager M L Kiruba and staff were present at this ceremony.a
