Abeygunasekera -POG of Dharmaraja

Lt. Col. D.S. Abeygunasekera was appointed as the Prefect of Games of Dharmaraja College, Kandy recently succeeding Sarath Mataraarachchi who is promoted as Deputy Principal of Dharmaraja.

Lt. Col. Abeygunasekera, an old boy of Dharmaraja who was in school from 1960 to 1973, was a member of the College Junior Cricket and Soccer teams.

After leaving school, he represented Ampitiya Panthers' Soccer Club for two years and from there he joined Madyama Lanka Sports Club.

During his period at Madyama Lanka he scored a hat trick of goals against Colombo Saunders in the 1970's playing as right inside.

He followed the soccer course in the year 1976 conducted by Berkshad Pape, Former West German Soccer Captain who was then the Sri Lanka National Soccer Coach.

He has taken measures to improve Cricket, Soccer and all other games in the School. He is the elder brother of present Principal of Girls High School, Kandy Mrs. Malkanthi Abeygunasekera.
