Red Bull Campus Cricket finals

It's going to be another exciting weekend for all cricket fans who are already going mad with on going Cricket series. Red Bull for the first time introduces the game of Cricket into their Sports Arena with Dinesh Chandimal as their brand ambassador for Sri Lanka for the first ever Asian Finals of the Red Bull Campus Cricket set to take place tomorrow (April 28) at the CCC grounds.

The national champion university teams of India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will fight for this title to be crowned as the Red Bull Campus Cricket Champions. The final team of Pakistan and India are here after defeating their opponent universities to meet face to face with Sri Lanka's championship team.

At the moment the T20 format triangular series is taking place with each team being mentored by very much experienced cricket players of their nation such as Moin Khan (Pakistan), Dinesh Mongia (India) and Brendan Kuruppu (Sri Lanka).

"Sri Lanka needs young blood to play at the national level - for this Red Bull and the tournament is grooming them to be taken to an international level and this is an ideal way for the young guys to get a good exposure and experience to play at a higher level", Dinesh Chandimal added.

"The best three teams have qualified to meet and play for the finals," Brendan Kuruppu said. Each team will play one another twice and the team with the highest coach is chosen to the next level. The finals are to begin at 3.30pm at the CCC Grounds and if the weather prevails the teams to play outdoors, the match will moved to the indoor stadium.

The team captains of Pakistan and India said they are all very excited and are proud to represent their country in Sri Lanka and are ready to bring in the best of the best of what they can offer.
