The Elections Department will take legal action
against persons who have multiple registrations in the electoral
list. Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said some persons

single registration. He said as an initial move, the Elections
Department has decided to take legal action against 500 such persons
for having multiple registrations in the electoral list.
