Hindu-Buddhist Assn to donate shoes to 100 Jaffna schoolchildren

The Hindu-Buddhist Association’s Sri Lanka branch has made
arrangements to donate shoes and socks to 100 selected schoolchildren in
Jaffna, Hindu Buddhist Association coordinator Arulnesaratnam Ravikumar
told the Daily News.
The event will coincide with a felicitation ceremony of Most Ven
Atambagaskada Saddharma Keerthi Sri Sumana Siddhartha today at the
Nagavihara temple in Jaffna.
The felicitation ceremony has been organized by the Security Forces
headquarters, Jaffna to honour the new appointment of Ven Atambagaskada
Saddharma Keerthi Sri Sumana Siddhartha as the Deputy Chief Incumbent of
the Northern Province, he said. International Hindu Buddhist Association
President T Logeswaran allocated funds for the programme, he said.
He emphasized that, the Hindu-Buddhist Association is taking measures
to build up harmony between Buddhists and Hindus countrywide. The
programme is one in a series of events to honour the new deputy chief
incumbent. |
