Outlook 2012 predicts 26-28% private investment upsurge in SL
The government projects private investments to
rise from around 21 percent of GDP in 2011 to about 26-28 percent in
the next few years according to Asian Development Outlook 2012.

North Eastern Ice Co to embark on Rs 60 m project
North Eastern Ice Company is to embark on a Rs
60 million investment project for the setting up of ice
manufacturing plants in three locations in the Northern and Eastern
provinces, Kalmunai, Valaichchenai and Gurunagar in Jaffna.
Belgium keen to invest in Sri Lanka
Belgium, a top diamond supplier to Sri Lanka, is
keen to invest in manufacturing and consulting in Sri Lanka. “We
invite Belgium investors to use our FTAs with India and Pakistan to
access the South Asian market,” said Rishad Bathiudeen, Minister of
Industry and Commerce.
