Kirimetiyawa Vidyalaya host school of Richmond College

Richmond College, Galle had selected Kirimetiyawa Vidyalaya in Kebethigollewa in the Anuradhapura district as its host school as part of the Education Ministry's Schools Hospitality Service Programme for inter school exchange of friendship and experiences, launched to coincide with the 2012 Deyata Kirula Exhibition.

The tutorial staff, students and the Richmond College OBA donated goods worth Rs 300,000 to the Kirimetiyawa Vidyalaya as part of this host programme yesterday (April 5). The package included school equipment, textiles, nutritious food items, fruits and shoes.

Richmond College also hoped to provide books for the school library, sports gear needed by students in Grades 1 to 5, organize a foster parent scheme for the benefit of 31 selected students, conduct medical camps for the benefit of the student and teacher population in the school and repair school buildings and spruce them up, said Richmond College Principal E.M.S. Ekanayake in a press release yesterday.
