Sri Lanka in with a good chance for victory:

England 111 for 2, set 340 for victory

Set 340 to win, England were 111 for 2 still requiring a further 229 for victory at close on day three at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, here today. The not out batmen were Jonathon Trott on 40 and Kevin Pietersen on 29.

Dhammika wins a gold in weightlifting

Twenty-seven-year-old Dhammika Harischandra from the little village of Menikhinna in the outskirts of Kandy entered her name into the record books when she became the first Sri Lankan woman weightlifter to win a gold medal at an international championship by achieving this feat at the Seventh Asian Weightlifting Championship held in Kathmandu, Nepal this week.
