Malinga will have to pass a fitness test

During the second one-dayer there was a scare when Lasith Malinga chasing a ball to the boundary crashed and was seen limping. He went in for attention, but came back to resume bowling the final over.

When asked about Malinga’s fitness and whether he will play in this crucial game, manager Charith Senanayake, said that he will have to pass a fitness test in the morning.

‘At the moment he is okay. The final playing eleven will be not be announced until we have a look at the conditions and the wicket and the fitness of the players. We will not risk Angelo Mathews.

We leave all options open. Whether we go in with pace or spin will be decided only on the morning’, said the manager.
