India beat Aussies by four wickets
The Australians were stopped in their tracks by
India who beat them by four wickets with two balls to spare in their
second meeting of the Commonwealth Bank Tri series game under lights
at the Adelaide Oval, yesterday. The Indians who lost to Australia
in Perth, did well to win this game and now the two teams are on
equal term with one win each. Sri Lanka the other team in the
tourney are still without a win.

Thailand trounces Sri Lanka
Thailand player Weerapat Doakmaiklee offered a
walkover after going down 6-4 in the first game to Sri Lankan number
one Thangarajah Dineshkanthan, allowing the host country to grab
their first and only victory in the Davis Cup BNP Paribas
Asia/Oceania Group II tie which concluded at the Sri Lanka Tennis
Association (SLTA) courts yesterday. Sri Lanka lost the tie to
Thailand (4-1).

A five wicket haul by Vishwa Fernando (5/62) and
equally supported by Upul Indrasiri (3/92) helped Bloomfield C and
AC to restrict Ragama SC to 290 all out to record an outright win of
142 runs in the Inter-Club Premier League Tier ‘A’ match continued
at Bloomfield grounds yesterday.
