Over 2,850 livelihood projects implemented

Over 2,850 animal husbandry, industrial and marketing projects have been implemented in the 30 D S Divisions in the Kurunegala district under the Samurdhi livelihood development programme by the office of the Assistant Samurdhi Commissioner, Kurunegala.

According to Assistant Samurdhi Commissioner N A A S Priyankara, the main objective of this programme is to uplift the living conditions of the Samurdhi recipients.

Rs 88 million has been spent by the Samurdhi Authority for this purpose. It is expected to complete the work on these projects by the end of this year.
