Some are myopic over development-Speaker
Ridma DISSANAYAKE
Sri Lanka is undergoing great development. But there is a party which
does not see this development and is trying to create a negative image
on the government. The present generation is intelligent and they have
knowledge to understand what is truth and false, said Speaker Chamal

The Speaker was addressing the Mulatiyana-Kotapola road's first stone
laying ceremony in Matara recently. The Economic Development Ministry
has allocated Rs.400 million to construct this road. Around 43
kilometres will be carpetted under the project.
"Road development will help locals to meet international goals. The
government is trying to introduce new ways of income generation. This
will provide facilities to the masses," Speaker Rajapaksa added.
A large number of road development programmes have been implemented
all around the country. These efforts will see a bright future for the
future generation.
The government has given more power to the District Secretaries, said
Economic Development Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena.
"Today we have laid the first stone for the Mulatiyana-Kotapola road.
The Economic Development Ministry has also allocated Rs.100 million to
build a bus stand in the Mulatiyana town. Over Rs.50 million has been
allocated for development activities in the Makandura electorate in
Matara," the deputy minister said.
Agriculture Minister Mahinda Yapa Abaywardena and Public
Administration and Home Affairs Deputy Minister Wijaya Dahanayake also
participated.
