‘High priority for Bharatha killing investigation’
A serious investigation is underway regarding the
killing of Presidential Director General on Trade Union Affairs
Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra who died in a shooting incident,
Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Minister Rajitha
Senaratna told the Daily News yesterday.
Two women among treasure hunters
Kekirawa Police have arrested seven persons who
were engaged in excavation for treasures in the Ipalogama area.
Among the suspects were two women. The arrests were made in the wee
hours of yesterday (18). Police also took into custody a backhoe and
items for ritual offerings at the site.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Prasanna Alwis
yesterday further remanded till November 1, the suspect who had been
remanded in connection with the shooting incident where Presidential
Trade Union Advisor and former Colombo District Parliamentarian
Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra was killed.
