Sonduru Grama launched

The Matugama Pradeshiya Sabha launched a novel programme called Sonduru Grama to develop rural areas.

Out of 57 Grama Niladari Divisions, Horawala and Madawala have been selected in the first phase.

"Road construction, installing street lamps, shramadana campaigns, medical clinics, blood donation camps, police mobile service, distribution of spectacles, dengue prevention programmes and host of other welfare activities will take place within two weeks time," said the Matugama Pradeshiya Sabha Secretary.

"We completed many development projects within 100 days and more projects are being implemented for the well-being of the people at Matugama," said Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman L G Liyanaarachchi.
