Richmond and Southlands chess champions

Richmond Wijesekera - Bentota Group Corr

Inter School Chess Tournament organised by the Mahinda College, Parents Chess Association was held recently at Mahinda College, Galle. Richmond College emerged boys champions while the Southlands BMV, Galle emerged girls champions.

Under 7 (Boys):

Champion: Rasmika Withanage (Dharmasoka College), 1st runner up: Sarindu Sathsara (Richmond College), 2nd Runner up: D K de Silva (Rahula College, Matara).

Under 7 (Girls):

Champion: Situni Samarasinghe (Southland BMV), 1st Runner up: B Indumini (Sujatha Vidyalaya, Matara), 2nd Runner up: L G Kavinsa (Southlands BMV)

Under 9 (Boys)

Champion: C P Lorensuhewa (Mahinda College), 1st Runner up: P P Kothangagoda (Richmond College), 2nd Runner up: Chandira Sujith (Richmond College).

Under 9 (Girls)

Champion: R N Keembiyage (Convent Galle), 1st Runner up: V L Chanodya (Dharmosoka College), 2nd Runner up: S N Kanakaratna (Dharmasoka College).

Under 11 (Boys)

Champion: C Lorensuhewa (Mahinda College), 1st Runner up: Damitha Anupama (Mahinda College), 2nd Runner up: Gansara Niwanka (Mahinda College).
