Donnelly expands with third BPO

Colombo is an attractive location because of its highly skilled
talent pool and the company provides transaction processing company
provides transaction processing and financial services to clients in the
US and Europe, Global BPO giant RR Donnelley’s Vice President and Human
Resources and Communications Head for Asia and Pacific Meena Sinha said
yesterday.
Addressing a news conference at the launch of the third RR Donnelly
facility in Colombo at the World Trade Centre, she said client
engagements along with the growth of existing client relationships have
driven the need for this expansion. We are excited about our growth in
Colombo and look forward to building on our capabilities,” she said.
”We have added two new state-of-the-art facilities in India and more
recently, acquired space for our second facility in Manila, Philippines.
This new facility, along with our existing centers in Asia, gives us a
larger network, enabling seamless delivery of work on a 24x7 basis,” she
said.
Colombo is an attractive location for RR Donnelley’s expansion
because of its access to a highly skilled talent pool. The company
provides transaction processing and financial services to clients in
Europe and the US and is the largest third party BPO services provider
in Sri Lanka.
RR Donnelley has around 58,000 employees worldwide.
RR Donnelley’s Global Outsourcing business in Asia provides
judgment-based professional support and industry-focused solutions,
including legal support, financial management, premedia, transaction
processing and real estate services.
Clients include Fortune 1000 companies, professional service
organizations and financial services firms across Europe and the United
States.
She said dedicated HR Business Partners for each of the verticals
engage proactively with their employees and function as change agents.
These HR Business Partners manage transformation and enable people to
work effectively as the organization plans, implements and experiences
change.
Asia Operations Senior Vice President Devapriya Perera said: “When
the market opened up in the late 1970s, RR Donnelley was the first
company to take advantage of the liberalized economy and set up a
Business Process Outsourcing unit as early as 1983 that catered
specifically to a UK-based clientele.
”Since then, we have been steadily growing and are today the largest
and oldest third party BPO-services provider in the country. Our
outsourcing service offering provides transaction processing and
financial services to clients in Europe and the US,” he said.
Global Outsourcing, as the BPO business is referred to, is one of the
largest, diversified judgment-based service providers and a leading
outsourcing firm worldwide.
”In Sri Lanka, we focus on knowledge-based transaction processing as
well as a comprehensive portfolio of support for the financial services
industry,” he said.
