Freedom is cherished by all. Sri Lanka, was once under foreign rule
and we got our independence in 1948. Now, we are proud to be one Nation.
Our unsung heroes sacrificed their lives, for a free and unitary
state. Thanks to them, the Head of State, the Defence Secretary and all
others concerned, paved the way for our victory over terrorism and
winning the war.
We should be grateful to our President, for his foresight and care
taken to end this horrific, satanic and bloody war, which took so many
innocent lives. Today, we are enjoying the freedom.
Now, the government is doing its best to develop this country.
People should help the government by giving full co-operation, to
achieve its objectives. Soon, our country will be the hub of Asia, if we

The secretary of any association, organization or company, notes down
all decisions at meetings of the executive committees, general meetings,
annual general meetings, meetings of the Board of Directors of a company
and then conveys the decisions taken to the relevant parties to act
accordingly. He/she may later call for progress reports and later inform
the decision makers.
Ban Ki Moon has exceeded his scope of authority in setting up a
committee of inquiry on his own without the consent of the General
Assembly or its Sub-Committees.
His explanation should be called for and disciplinary action taken

It is just over two months after the new fish market was opened. On
the stretch of the road many huge pot-holes have appeared in which
stagnate rain waters. This is the beginning and in no time the road will
become impassable. Apparently, as usual, a shoddy work has been done by
the local authorities.
It has been made compulsory to display the prices of goods sold. But
does it exempt the fish market? The retail stall sellers are deceiving
the buyers quoting different prices.
If the prices are written people can see the difference and make
their purchase accordingly. The Ministry of Trade should compel this and
conduct raids and impose heavy fines.
Best is to display the Flying Squad telephone number at prominent
spots to complain if price is not displayed so that it will give them a
For those who travel from Colombo to the fish market the bus halts
are very far away from the approach road of the market. Therefore it is
requested for the convenience of the visitors to shift the halt very
closer to the market road.

Mihipita Jalaya Anagatha Jala Bindu was an entry in the annual film
festival organised by the Public Relation Department of the Water Supply
and Drainage Board. This annual film festival which is sponsored either
by private or public institutions is held with the sole purpose of
evaluating the merits and demerits of films and those require
recognition to be duly rewarded.
The due process reviewing films for reward which should not only be
fair but acceptable to all had not not been applied in respect of
Mihipita Jalaya Anagatha Jala Bindu.
The maiden attempt of an enterprising film maker his film had not
even been shown at the festival. ‘Young film makers’ hopes of forging
ahead in their chosen career are nipped in the bud by the indifferent
attitudes of authorities who have not only denied this film a viewing
opportunity but also have failed to offer any token of appreciation of

Please permit me to refresh your mind with regard to the massacres
carried out by Velupillai Piribaharan, the world’s worst terrorist in
the 21st century.

You are aware that ex-President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga
lost one eye as a result of bomb attack carried out by his goons.
Tragedy took place at Weligama when devotees of the Muslim community
assembled for a holy ceremony in the mosque. A hundred devotees were
injured and a few others were killed. Minister Mahinda Wijesekera who
was a victim of this brutal attack is still bedridden and not fully
recovered from the injuries he sustained.
I can quote innumerable brutal murders of innocent people including
those his own race.
Mr Moon why did not you have the sympathy, concern and care for a
large number of victims including Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and Malay etc
when they lost their loved ones, children, young and old.

I refer to an article quoted by Environment Minister Anura
Priyadarshana Yapa to the Daily News.
“The demand for sand will increase by seven million cubes per year
within the next two years with massive development taking place in the
country,” Environment Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa told the Daily
There are two huge hills of sand with not millions but billions of
cubes of sand one at Ramboda and the other at Belihuloya by the side of
the main road where sand could be exploited and provided. The former
land belongs to the LRC and the Road Development Authority used this
sand to upgrade the Kandy Nuwara Eliya road as well as for the
construction of the new tunnel 260 feet long.
