Iranian Revolution turns 32
Achievement to be admired:
Iranís Islamic Revolution turns 32 this month and
when we consider the pressures exerted on it during these years
since the Shahís regime was overthrown, even the Islamic nationís
strongest critics cannot but admit that there is something special
about the Revolution.
Floods and global warming
Flooding in Sri Lanka has resulted in deaths of
about 23 persons during a week of monsoon floods in the Central,
Northern and Eastern provinces especially Batticaloa and Trincomalee
once severely bitten by terrorism. Over 541,000 persons were

It is in this background I attend this Ministersí meeting with much
interest. Tourism in our country is the first beneficiary of total
peace. However this, by no means an occasion to relax. We need to
visualize the future.
