Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya met newly appointed only Asian Cardinal Rt Rev Dr Malcolm Ranjith, at Bishop House, Colombo Tuesday. The Cardinal lauded the continuing humanitarian roles of the Army for the benefit of the underprivileged and invoked blessings on the Army and its forward march for development, resettlement and reconciliation

A holiday bungalow constructed for Naval personnel in Nilaweli was opened by Navy Commander Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe recently. Navy Seva Vanitha Unit President Malathie Samarasinghe, Commander, Eastern Naval Area Rear Admiral Jayanath Colombage, senior Naval officers and Navy Seva Vanitha Unit members were also present.
