CB, ICASL and ACCA collaborate on IFRS
For Financial Services sector:
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CB), the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and the Association of Chartered
Certified Accountants, UK (ACCA) are conducting a workshop on
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This workshop is
designed to ensure that finance and banking professionals involved in
Financial Reporting for the banking and financial sector have a good
understanding of IFRS as its application is more complex in the
financial services sector.
The program is structured in two blocks of five half days to enable
participants to attend to their day to day work whilst participating in
the program. The program will commence on September 13 for Part I and on
October 4 for Part II. Registrations can be done with ICASL or Central
Bank Centre for Banking Studies and will close on September 9.
The course will introduce the concept of IFRS financial statements
with extensive references to banking and financial sector transactions,
financial instruments and the relevant accounting methodology for each
type and a comprehensive case study to ensure ability to apply course
learnings.
