Police to act promptly
A Report on each complaint received by the 1929 Child Line (Hotline)
service of the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) will be issued
by the respective police station within 48 hours after lodging the
In line with the circular issued by the Police Headquarters
yesterday, all divisional heads, district heads and OICs of all police
stations are asked to inquire into complaints with immediate effect. The
circular has requested police officers to submit a report on the inquiry
within 48 hours.
When Child Line hotline service receives a complaint, information or
tip-off, the OIC of the respective police station will be made aware by
the NCPA Special Police Investigation Unit. The OIC will deploy officers
to look into the issue and steps will be taken to issue the progress
report to the Special Police Investigation Unit of NCPA with 48 hours.
