Mattakkuliya attack suspects before Magistrate

The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) conducting investigations into the attack on Mattakkuliya Police station produced 23 suspects before the Colombo Additional Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara. They were later produced before an identification parade.

All 23 suspects were identified at the parade and further remanded till the completion of the ongoing investigations, said DIG Anura Senanayake, who is directing investigations into the attack on Mattakkuliya Police station.

According to the investigations conducted on the direction of DIG Senanayake several other suspects also will be produced before the Magistrate.

Earlier 176 suspects were produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara and released them on personal a bail for a sum of Rs 50,000 each.

Colombo Crime Division (CCD) Chief Inspector Hemantha Dickovita, OIC, CCD is assisting in the investigations.
