Death of Ruhunu University student:

Natural causes, says JMO

Special teams sent to university:

Ruhunu University student Rajapaksa Susantha Anura had died of natural causes, Inspector General of Police Mahinda Balasuriya citing the Badulla Judicial Medical Officer’s postmortem report on Bandara, said. Addressing the media last evening, IGP Balasuriya said according to Dr M N Rahul Haq’s postmortem report there was no evidence of violence while Bandara’s body had no injuries.

Mattakkuliya attack suspects before Magistrate

The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) conducting investigations into the attack on Mattakkuliya Police station produced 23 suspects before the Colombo Additional Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara. They were later produced before an identification parade.

One person was killed and two others injured by a mortar bomb explosion when they attempted to pierce a king coconut using an unexploded mortar bomb on Wednesday evening in the Kalpitiya area.
